Rockingham Beach Cup Relaunch

The Client:
The Rotary Club of Palm Beach WA hosts the Rockingham Beach Cup event each year.
The event provides an opportunity to showcase Rockingham’s natural attractions, provide economic development for the local community and greater Rockingham, and act as a fundraiser for the Rotary Club and its beneficiaries, Australian Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, Variety WA and Rotary projects.
The existing website was built for the event two years ago. The content, layout, design and functionality were outdated.
The client wanted to embrace the unique event to all audiences 18 and over, but this year was aiming to bring in a younger crowd. Creating a fun, stylish, vibrant design, an event that cannot be missed, a save the date in the diary event.
To create a website that tells the visitors that this year’s event is one not to miss, the event of the year that everybody will be racing to purchase tickets.
Stylish, yet easy to use website with innovative functionality.
A strategy session was the first point of call with the client, followed by extensive planning and wireframe designs.
We created a design that would flow from the homepage through to each section of the website to showcase each area of the event. From the beach cup racing to the community festival.
Once the design flow was built, innovative functionality was built into the website. Save the date to the users calendar, early bird ticket registration, interactive map showcasing ticket options, details, dress code, ticket prices, etc. Downloadable map, frequently asked question accordions, stylish interactive information boxes with strong call to actions. High definition background video, social media integration, sponsors carousel, mobile responsive and optimised, pop up forms.
It's still early days for the newly launched website, we have predicted a large volume of traffic to influx, which we have prepared for in our dedicated hosting server.
All ticket purchasing, information and point of contact will be done through this website.

Peter and his team at Smarter Websites have handled the website for Rockingham Beach Cup for the past 2 years now. We were very happy with the website that Smarter Websites created in 2016 but with the growth of the event for the second year the was a lot of additional information that needed to be incorporated into the website. Prior to the launch of the 2017 Rockingham Beach Cup Peter and his team improved the website further with the incorporation of all the additional events.
